Biography

Hudson O’Reilly is an emerging professional saxophonist in Evanston, IL. He serves as the Personnel Manager of the Chicago Wind Collective and is a founding member of the 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Hudson has found success in a variety of competitions, having been awarded first prize at the 2025 Vandoren Emerging Artists Competition and named winner of Northwestern University’s Concerto & Aria Competition. Hudson serves as the Director of Operations and alto saxophonist of the Synchrony Quartet, a saxophone quartet formed by four Northwestern students with a mission to promote bringing new works to the instrument through commissioning, collaborating, and arranging. The burgeoning ensemble won first prize at the MTNA National Chamber Music Competition and the North American Saxophone Alliance Quartet Competition, the Anne D. Moran Silver Prize at the Chesapeake International Chamber Music Competition, and the grand prize at the Coltman National Chamber Music Competition. Synchrony Quartet has performed around the country, with guest performances at the Peabody Conservatory and guest artist residencies at Sam Houston State University and James Madison University.

Hudson is pursuing a Masters of Music at Northwestern University with Professor Taimur Sullivan. He has previously earned a Bachelor of Music degree at Northwestern University.
