Biography
Stina Hawkinson is a Chicago based oboist who has a passion for arts accessibility, outreach, and contributing to a positive and uplifting musical community. Hailing from Wilmette, IL, Ms. Hawkinson has been present in the Midwestern classical music scene through freelance work, reedmaking, and private studio instruction.
Stina’s reed business Reedsource launched in August 2025. In 2024 she received her Master of Music degree at the Northwestern University Bienen School of Music, where she received the coveted Eckstein Grant. In May of 2022 she received her Bachelor of Music degree from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music under the tutelage of Professor Linda Strommen.
Throughout her career so far, Stina has been able to play for and work with many fantastic musicians such as Elaine Douvas, John Ferrillo, Linda Strommen, Anne Gabriele, Mary Lynch, Jessica Warren, Roger Roe, Michael Henoch, and more.
